MENTAL DISEASES
INTERNATIONAL INVESTIGATIONS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). NEW YORK, May 12. Dr Noble, whose visit was cabled on May 7th) has arrived here en route to London. In an interview he stated that eight committees of hygienists would be chosen to carry on an investigation in various countries, and to report at the next geheral meeting at Paris. The investigations will cover the international statistics of those mental disorders which receive special clinical treatment, the laws referring to psychiatric conditions, the problems of delinquency, and the work done in prisons. Dr Noble addressing the closing luncheon at Washington, enumerated the problems prevalent in New Zealand and Australia, and he appealed, to the larger nations to assist the younger countries to train psychiatrists, pschologists and social workers by offering fellowships for suitable persons to obtain a wider training in the United States, Britain and Europe.
