The Federal Governments 1 Tar iff embargo is having a boomerang effect. The waterside workers are the latest to complain that thousands of their members are unable to obtain work because a majority of the overseas vessels are arriving nearly empty many being diverted to other countries.

' The Waterside Federation has written to the Prime Minister pointing out the circumstances, saying that families are starving and being •'victed from their homes, and asking for some relief.
