Mokau on Saturday,- when- 'all elderly man, Eli Akinau, accompanied by his son and daughter, went fishing in a flat-bottomed boat. A heavy sea was running on the bar at the time, and while attempting to cross, • about 1.30 p.m., the boat capsized. The accident was observed from the shore, and Mr 'Frank Ratten bury and Wholeni, a Maori, ‘tvho launched a boat.
