AEROPLANE CRASHED
PILOT UNHURT.

ROTORUA, May 12
The Whakatane home-made ■ aeroplane’of'l. Alison crashed yesterday at Rotorua. The first flight with a minimum load was successful and the trial flight with a capacity load, the plane just- cleared the ground fences and continuing across the main Wliakatane road, Alison found he was unable to rise, and in attempting to find a landing in a paddock, the wing touched a titree tilting the machine and spinning.it round. The pilot was flung into srnib hinhurt. /The. machine dived into ' a.'small 1 creek) . bank : and was completely smashed.; ' A huge number of spectators gathered ■. to- witness the trial • and "Were greatly relieved when news dame'back that the pilot was safe.
