BRITISH MISSIONS SENT.

In the House of Commons; Mr Phillip Snowden said that he was not in a position to make a comprehensive statement regarding the proposed action of the Government on the Palestine report, but with regard to one section of tlxe report it had been decided to appoint a special officer tc visit Palestine on a temporary mission for the purpose of reporting, in consultation with the High Commissioner, on the important question of land settlement, immigration, and development. Sir John Hope Simpson, who had very high qualifications in the matter, had agreed to undertake this mission. Conversations with the Arab delegation on various matters raised in the report were proceeding.
At the request of the British and Iraq Governments, • Sir Hilton Young was proceeding at short notice to Bagdad to advise the Iraq Government on an urgent question relating to the Budget and the currency and to preside over a special conference c[f Iraq Ministers and British advisers, which will examine • the financial situation. Sir Hilton Young is leaving Lcfidon forthwith and expects to be absent for six weeks.
