INSURANCE MANAGER RETIRES

AUCKLAND, May. G

After 45 years’ most successful service, Mr IT. M. Didstury will retire at the end off this month from the managership of the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Insurance Company, which he has held sinfce 1920. Born in Wellington, Mr Didsbuty joined the branch of the .company there in 1885, and in 1897 was selected to open a branch of the company - operations at New Plymouth; Having sucoe-sisfiflly" inaugurated the hriucli lie was transferred for a time to Perth, West Australia, and thence to India but after two years his health did not permit of a longer stay in the tropics He was again chosen to open a new branch, on this occasion at Bendigo. • In 1912 he was appointed manager fit Napier, and in 1913 nian-ao-er at Dunedin. In 1920 the directors chose him to assume control ot the company’s affairs at Auckland.
