T.B. CURE

WANGANUI SPECIFIC

(By Telegraph-- Per Press Association.)

WANGANUI, May 7

A claim that he has discovered a cure for consumption and for other ailments affecting the lungs, is made by Mr Robert Ireland, a retired farmer, of Wanganui. His theory is that a remedy, to be effective, must be applied in the most direct manner possible. His treatment consists of the application of an ointment, which is smeared on browm paper, and tied over the chest. In four or five hours the body absorbs this.

Mr V. Boyd, of Wanganui, who has been applying this ointment for some time, states that it is too early to say definitely that it is a cure. “J nave been using it, and I am mucn better as a result,” he said. “My doctor is pleased with the way I am shaping, and he told me to keep on with it.” Mr Ireland communicated with Dr Watt, Deputy-Chief of the Health Department, and advised him of the ingredients. Mr Watt was sceptical about the ointment affecting cures, and he ex pressed the opinion 'that it would be harmful to the skin. Mr Ireland believes that he is wrong in this, and has pointed to' the fact tJiat Mr Boyd has been using it for some ‘time, and his skin has not been affected in any way.
