OPENING TO-NIGHT,
AH streets to-night will lead-to the* Princess Theatre,,, where the Westland competitions, Society opens its annual festival sX- A fJSO o’clock. The doors will open at ’'7 'o’clock, and at 7.30 o’clock the President (Air D. J. Evans), will introdue tlie judges and;open the festival. "*• ' - V.
The Competitions this year will be an extended season, though there will be only ' one night session this week* that of to-night. To-morrow and Saturday will be occupied with two day sessions, and,both, the Town Had and Princess Theatre will be in use for the purpose. Ne.Jt j . week, through the courtesy of Everybody’s Pictures, there will be full , opcup.ations of •« Princess: Theatre by the Competitions;band or Monday and Tpesday' there,' will he day aiid night sessions; with demonstration concert'sl.,on Wednesday and Thursday at the Theatre. , To-night-s* programme isb a.4veiiy full one, embracing ),hr large* 'number of items, including 'musical monologue* contralto solo,'piano duet; (-2'sections), ladies’ test-recitation; ’“The*. Light of Stars,” piano solo,' humorous : recitation , song in. character, : playettes (2), choir in anthem,-'hymn> and:glee, prepared speech, baritone solo,' and recitation in character. -"
