Anthony Trollopt, the famous Victorian novelist, hated ‘tobacco at one time. That was before he began to write novels. When he became a weaver of joints and a delineator of character, ho sought—and found—as so many writers do, inspiration in the weed. But he was a fastidious smoker and to the end of his days avoided tobacco heavily charged with nicotine, knowing full well that sooner or later, the poison would exact the penalty of shattered nerves or diseased heart. Had our popular NeW Zealand tobaccos been to the fore in Trollopt’s day they must have appealed to him:, because, owing to being toasted, (as no others are) they are almost entirely free from nicotine and perfectly that cannot bo claimed for the .foreign tobaccos, all of them remarkable for the large quantity of nicotine they contain. The New Zealand are the only toasted tobaccos manufactured in the Dominion, Note the names of the brands: Itiverhead Gold, Navy Cut, Cavendish, and Cut PlujfrN. 10—and beware of imitations!—Advt.
