SYDNEY, May 4
Despite drenching rain and sullen skies., the Head-of-the-river rowing championships, which provide a great day among the great public schools of Sydney, were held yesterday. The final of the eights was won by Sydney High School with St. Joseph’s College second, and Sydney Church of England G rammer School third Newington College was fourth. The race was rowed in choppy water, and it provided a brilliant finish,, a bare length separating all the placed boats. High School has now won the .champion eights five times in six years.
The other . events resulted as follows.—
Second Fours.;— St. Joseph’n first gvhiey High School second. F'rsfc Fours:— St. Joseph’s College first ; Scots second.
