Beet —There were 585 fat cattle yarded. The quality was. mixed. Good steers were • firmer. Steers sold: Best £l7 10s to £2l 2s 6d, prime £l4 18s to £l6 ss, medium £l2 to £l3, ss, plain ,£9 10s to £ll 10s. Cows " and heifers sold. Best £ll to £ls 7s 6d, prime £8 10s to £lO 10s, medium £7 to £8 ss, plain £4 10s to £6 15s. Mutton.—There was only a small entry of fat sheep, but mostly well finished sorts. Prices were ,a shade firmer. .Best wethers sold to 36s Id, prime 29s to 335, medium 2os od to 28s 6d, light 19s to 245, Ewes sold: Extra to 27s 7d, prime 21s to 245, medium 17s 6d t 0,205, light 12s to 16s (id.

Fat lambs.—There were 3,647 yarded, but good lambs were in short supply. The exporters were buying freely. Extra sold up to 26s TOd, prime 22s 6d to 245, medium 20s to .225, plain 15s to 19s 6d.

Store sheep.—The lambs yarded numbered 2290. being mostly backward and undersized. Goods sorts were selling firmer. The best sold up to 15s, medium 11s to 13s, plain 6s to I.os. The adult stores yarded numbered 3500. Competition was fair. Two tooth three-quarter bred and half bred ewes sold to 23s Sd, and fo i- r, six and eivht tooth half bred at 225. Coarse wool led sorts were easier by 2s. Store wethers were not wanted, the best selling at 18s; half breds to 15s. aired ewes 12s to 13s, and culls from 3s 7d.

Pigs —Porkers were in over-supply and values were easier. Baconers. were firm at late rates. Light pork sold 42s to 51s, heavy 53s to 655, the average price being 7d to 84d per pound.
