On Monday evening the presentation ; of. cups.,, pn.d -.jni.uiafurgs .tp.,, successful pilot's at the Canterbury''Outboard Regatta, took place at the Aknro a . Borough Council Chambers. The .Mayor, - Mr'-G. Armstrong; presided, and 'expressed pleasure- .a.t having tiie championship in Akaroa;"
Mi: A. A. AC Lean, in the absence of tiie commodore, Air R. J. Scott, expressed applbci'atidn, of-Hlfe i-assis-tanee given by Akaroa. Mr AY. ,J. AlaeGi'bbon also spoke.
The Mayor apologised for the absence of Air T. Al’Caiighan, Akaroa, had rendered invaluable service, especially in making arrangements at the Akaroa end.
The cups were presented as billows: B. class championship. Air Allan Woodman (Ajax), of AYellington: C class championship, Air J. N. Robinson i Pit-a-Pat). Hokitika; 1) class chamoionship. Air F. J. Antirevs (A!env Alcm-pts), Hokitika; Air T. T. Gough’s Cup'. Air J. Simpson (Play l-y —l, (.'Mirise’lurch ; Akaroa open ha.ndiia.n. Air C \V. Penrose (An Devoir:. Wes‘■•■art; Nash C'up. Air AY. .1. Mat-Gibbon (Heck), Christchurch. Air Al*Lean, on behalf ol the club, presented the Piste Cup to Air L. Stericker (Humbug) as an appreciation. of his good sporsmanship at the regatta. Air Stericker returned thanks, but saitl lie could not take the cup back to Auckland, as he had not raced and won it. He asked the dull) to take it back and be would come from Auckland next year and try to win it..
