LEVY ON WAGES
TO COPE WITH UNEMPLOYED

SYDNEY, April 27
The New South Wales State Government have decided to appoint an Unemployment Relief Board. Its functions will include the spending of three million pounds, which is to be raised by a special levy on. wages, oil all possible work for the unemployed, ami also on the formulating of a scheme for the prevention of further dismissals. The constitution of the Board will not lie divulged till it is ratified h.v the Nationalist Party before the House reassembles. The Cabinet have also finalised a general plan for Public Service salary reductions, whereby about one million pounds yearly is to be saved.
