A FRIEND IN NEED.
A man was seeing his mother-in-law off at the station after a very'long visit, Tie was. carrying her bag, an<! while she went on to the platform he went to the booking-office to get a platform ticket.
Wien he returned the ticket-collec-tor said he could not enter the platform by that 'gate. The train was due to start in two minutes.
“My mother-in-law is going away 1 v the train,” explained the man, “and it she doesn’t get this hag she’ll come back. The ticket-collector flung the gates wide and said: “Pass, friend.”
