NEW YORK, April 18
A Chicago message states that tho first air mail robbery occurred when a plane alighted on the land ground in the heart of the city.
The pilot stepped out to lift five bags of registered mail, anil found himself staring into the guns held by two robbers who relieved him of the entire load, worth about £IO,OOO They quickly escaped in a car. Another bold rebbery occurred at Portland where two bandits entered a bank carrying a lunch box, which contained ropes. They trussed the employees, secured £SOOO in bank notes, but overlooked £IOOO in gold | coin.
102 YEARS OLD
VANCOUVER, April 19
A report from St. Hyacinth announces the death of Senator Georges-, Casimir Dessaulles at the age of 102 years. The home in which he had lived for 76 years was burnt on Thursday. Senator Dessaulles was removed to the hospital and he died as the result of shock and excitement. He had previously been in good health.
