LONDON, April 21

The most wintry Eastertide for centuries spoilt the holidays. The rain and cold was particularly depressing as Easter is exceptionally late. Moreover there is every prospect of the temperature remaining in the forties. Snow fell as far south as Folkestone and Ventnor causing southern seaside resorts to be largelf forsaken by visitors, who- preferred the warmth of London homes/though preparations were made for record crowds.
