WASHINGTON, April 17
British Ambassador Lindsay, in his first radio speech at one o’clock on Thursday morning, addressed New Zealand from his study at the British Embassy, via station W.Z.X.E. He discussed the development of means for Communication between New Zea,land and England and the United States. “We hope to find all the personal and political relations between you and us become more and more intimate. You have a great common trade which promises to becorrie more important still. You have an outlook, on world characteristics of young nations, a courageous looking forward to the future, and a spirit of boundless enterprise.” He discussed the increased popularity of rugby football in tne United States, and concluded by saying: “I believe this may also bo heard in Australia and to all Australians, too, therefore, if my voice is carrying so far, T would like to send a, similar message of greeting.”
