labour dept, attacked. AUCKLAND, April 14. An attack on the methods of the Auckland branch of the Labour Department was made by a deputation from the Trades Labour Council to Hon. A\ • A. Witch to-day. Mr Rurtell, Pro-sklent of the Council, complained on behalf ftif the Union Secretaries that their complaints were dealt with only after delay, or not dealt wth at all. lie also alleged that the Union Secretaries had complained of breaches of the awards, but the Department had taken no action, with the result that the Union itself took action and was successful. The Minister promised a full enquiry.
