AVIDESPREAR DISMISSALS ANNOUNCED.

Officials of the Australian Railways Union have rejected the suggestion of Air Cleary (.Railway Commissioner) for economic reforms in the service. •As a result, there will be widespread dismissals from the service commencing to-day. Premier Bavin in making the announcement that the Union had refits ed to consent to the rationing of unemployment, coincident with the return to 48 hours, said the only alternative was dismissal, It is stated that live thousand tramway and railway men will lose their positions within the next few months.
