THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
OUR FARMER GOVERNOR
As a practical farmer, Lord Bledisloe knows what depressed prices mean to the man on the land, but he realises how enormous are the possibilities of development in New Zealand. It is not only that there is much more land to be broken in, but that by the better treatment of grass land, to say nothing of other improvements in farming methods, the yield of farms can he greatly increased. At a time when the market news of our primary products in inclined to l>e depressing, it is cheering to have this assurance from so high an authority.
