ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE.

Alessrs M. Houston and Co. report: There was a smaller attendance of buyers than usual at the fortnightly sale a,t the above yards yesterday, and competition was not at all keen, with the result that there was a decided drop in prices. Good prime ox and heiter beef realized on an average of 35s per hundred, and cow beef sold from 28s to 33s per hundred. There was a very poor demand for sheep, although good young breeding ewes made satisfactory prices. AVe sold as follows:—On account of T. Staines, 69 2, 4 and 6-tooth ewes at 255, 12 2-tooth ewes at 28s, 1 ram at 50s ; on account of AY. F. Diedricli, 1 bullock at £l2 17s 6d, 2 at £lO 12s 6d, 2 at £8 17s 6d, 2 at £lo'l7s 6d, 1 at £ll 10s, 1 at £9 15s, 1 at £lO 12si 6d; on account of T Staines, 1 cow at £lO, 2 at £lO 12s 6d, 1 heifer at £8 12s 6d; on account of AA r m. Hall, 2 cows at £9 7s 6d, 1 at £B, 2 18-mos heifers at £3; 5 18mos steers' at £3 15s; on account of J. P. ATcGuigan, 1 heifer at £7, 1 cow at £6 17s 6d; on account of a client, 1 vealer at £3 17s 6d, 1 heifer at £4 17s 6d, 2 cows at £8 10s; on account' of Airs Toker, 1 cow at £9. At a meeting of butchers held before me sale, it was decided to bold tbe next sale at these yards on AA rednesday, 16th. April at 1.30 p.m. in lieu of tbe ordinary date which falls on Easter Monday.
