MELBOURNE, April 7. The. world professional running championships have commenced. Cooper (Victoria is defending the title, McLennan (New Zealand champion) is unable to compete owing- to gastric trouble.
A. Robertson (Victoria) won both the 75 and 130 yards in 7} secs and 12 3-5 secs respectively. Robertson leads with eighteen points. Hunger j fSouth Australia) is second, four points, and Parker (Queensland) third, three points.
The 100 and 220 yards events have yet to be decided.
