DEIJHI, April 4

Gallant efforts -by British troops averted an explosion of twenty-eight tnousand pounds of gun powder and a large quantity of ammunition during a big blaze in a munitions factory at Kirkes, near Poona. A sentry gave the alarm, early* in the morning, and the two companies of the Royal Munster Rifles, also artillerymen and members of a tank corps, rought the flames for two hours with a small engine, removing barrels of gun powder from the blazing main magazine. A special congratulatory order has been issued by the Poona Brigade Area Commander.
