HOKITIKA MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB
The above club at a meeting on 19th September 1928 resolved to terminate the club on account oi insufficient support. Other resolutions i were (1) That as tlie R.S.A. had been generous to the club in allowing the shooting to be held in their ball at a low rental they (R.S.A.) be handed the monies received for sale of the foui rifles less expenses; (2) that any remaining cash be donated to the cadets for prizes (3) that the secretary Mr Johnston and Mr Paterson, attend to the winding up of'the club’s affairs. Regarding disposal of rifles thanks are due to Mr Jack Haile in finding a buyer for the if our rifles at £-4 a piece and £ls Is has been handed to the R.S.A. from this source. On approaching Mr Bleach re the offer to the cadets he adj vised holding the money until 1930, and that a trophy should be given. AY itli sales of plant, cash in bank etc. an amount of £4 8s has been paid towards purchase of a cup valued at four guineas and engraving same, Mr Bleach volunteered to provide the balance for engraving. It is understood that the trophy will be a challenge cup for the first year cadets for B Company No. 2 Cadet Battalion, Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. In conjunction 51 r Lynn lias also donated a small cup for the cadet with the best average for the year. These cups are on view in llrockleburst’s window.
