IMPROVEMENT IN HEALTH

DUNEDIN, March 31. Air Alalcolin Stevenson, president of

the New Zealand Master Carriers’ Association, motored to Rotorua to see Sir Joseph Ward and ascertain tiie Crime Minister’s physical condition, about which he had heard many connicting rumours.

Mr St ■evenson, to his surprise, found Sir Joseph remarkably well, In an interview that lasted a couple of hours he sat in his chair moving about, m it freely and was quite alert and cognisant of all Government affairs. He said that the Government had carried out vira< ticnlly all its promises, and that he was improving in health, ami hoping to he about again as usual in a short time and lie had no intention of resigning.

“Mv previous meeting with Sir Joseph was in 19 G, and my belie! is that in business ability he is as good a man to-day as lie was then,.” said Air Stevenson. “The rumours to the contrary are most unfair.”
