The Secretary for Air, Air Montague, stated in reply to a question that no further attempts on the world’s air speed record were at present contemplated. Highspeed aircraft were being used for research purposes.
IRISH PARLIAMENT. MR COSGRAYE RE-ELECTED. (Received this day at noon.) DUBLIN, April 2. The Bail was crowded with visitors when Dean O’Kelly (acting leader of the Fianna Fail) nominated Mr Dc Valera to succeed Mr Cosgrave. This was defeated by 93 to 54. The Labour nominee Air 0 Connell was defeated 'by 78 to 13. after which yir Cosgrave was re-elected.
