LABOUR. CANDIDATE SELECTED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.' WELLINGTON, April 1. Mr James Thorn, of Wellington, President of the New Zealand Labour Party, lias been selected as the official Labour candidate for the 6taki seat at the next general election. This will not he Mr Thorn’s first attempt to enter Parliament. In 1905 and 190? he unsuccessfully contested the Christchurch South seat, and the Palmerston seat in 1914. For several years Mr Thorn has been Secretary of the Wellington Labour 'Representation Committee, and has edited “ The New Zealand Worker ” for nearly a decade.
