Woods’ Great Peppermint Cur© For Goughs and Colds, never fails. A meeting ,of the Hokitika Library Committee was held last evening at 7 o’clock. Present.: Messrs D. J. Evans (Chairman), W.. Wilson, T. W. Duff, H. M. Coulson, G. H, Coles and J. Niven. Mr Bruce presented.,the Library with the Life and Letters of Walter K. Page (2 vols.)— Received with thanks. Mr Coles mentioned the matter of a supply of magazines- for the hospitals. It was agreed to grant same, and the matter was left to Mr Coles to make a selection from time to time. The matter of establishing a library at the public hospital was mentioned by Mr Wilson, and Mr Duff was i asked to see what could, he. arranged I at the institution in the way of local control. Mr Wilson thought a large number of volume's would he given by local residents. The Chairman referred to tlie hooks at the Stafford Library, and Mr Duff was asked to ascertain the position. Cleaning and renovation of the rooms at the library were authorised, and the Book ‘ Committee , was authorised to go into the arrangement of the volumes on the shelves. The Book Committee reported regarding a list of books to he procured and was authorised to make enquiry as to a local supply. Accounts to the amount of 1'29 14s 8d were passed for payment.
