PRISONERS’ DIET. (Australian Press Association) PERTH, April 1. Prisoners in Freemantle Gaol who went on strike last week, have been ordered a diet of bread and water and extra imprisonment. Official information is refused.

Sir Adrian Knox states that having benefited very considerably under the will of an intimate friend, who died recentlv, he has thus become involved in a business carried on in Australia, and the position thus created is incon. patible with the retention of him of any judicial office. Sir Adrian Knox was one of the most intimate friends of the late John Brown (the Newcastle coal magnate).
