NEW YORK, .Tan. 24 i divorce decrees of interest to the cinema world were granted to day, one to Miss Gilda Gray, who “shimmied'’ into fame from a Milwaukee night. clul>, and the other to Mrs Jule H, Powell, wife of Mr Wiliam H. Powell, the cinema actor, Miss Gray obtained an interlocutory decree from Mr Gil Boag a year ago, and the decree is now made final, She alleged oruel treatment. In the esse of Mrs Powell, +he court at Los Angeles awarded her a property settlement with the joint custody of a four year old son. The couple wane married in April, 1915, and sc pa raced in June, 1925. Mrs Powoll stated that her husband had an income of 1:20 030, She alleged that he accused her of having the mentality of a child of 12 and told her lie was “ ashamed to he seen with lmr.” She also said that lie informed her that ho was a dramatic genius and that their marriage was impeding his career. Among the most notable tall ing films in which Mr Powell has appeared are: “Intelligence,” “The Canary Murder Case,” and Beau Sabrour.” Miss Gilda Gray has appeared in “ Alonia of the South Seas” and “ Devil Dancer.”
