COAL TROUBLES
N.S.W. COAL DISPUTE. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, , Alarcli 27. The Federal Prime Minister, Mr J. 11. Seiijlin, has announced that he has decided to invite the representatives of the Northern Colliery Owners’ Association and of the Alincrs’ I'edcratiou to a conference with him on Saturday regarding the trouble on Northern fields. The proprietors have agreed to attend the Conference. The coal owners have firmly refused to confer ith the men, however, except on the terms r.l the November compromise proposal (which provided for a reduction of all contract wages by 12.1 per cent, also sixpence per ton from the wages ol day labour employees at the collieries concerned). SYDNEY, March 27. The Northern Collieries' Association officials have announced that over four thousand applications have been iceeived for employment in mines.
