ENCOURAGING EMPIRE' TRADE. Empire Freetrade as advocated by Lord Re aver brook and others, cannot for a variety of reasons, be regarded as a practical policy at the present time. That is not to say that buying and selling within the Empire cannot be stimulated to gcod purpose along other lines. Hie ke}’ to Empire trading and industrial prosperity lies no doubt in co-operation among the peoples of the Empire. It is possible for the various parts of the Empire’ to extend to one another closer and more friendly help in promoting trade prosperity, —Otago Times.
