WELLINGTON, -March’ 26.
The Prime Minister,.,at Rotorua,,,has issued the following ' statement: -.‘The Government are at present engaged in a capful consideration of the system of defence in New Zealand, and a revision of the, whole, question is now especially having rethe necessity of reducing the annual expenditure on this branch of defence. It is the intention pf ,->the Government to submit proposals' in this to Parliament next session,,i.'apd in the meantime, it has been decided that upon the termination of th,e.
