The Manawatu Autumn Meeting opened in cloudy but fair weather, excellent attendance and course good. Hurdles:—(3) Omeo 1, (5) Diana’s Lad 2. (7) Vivo 3. Scr: Mister Gamp, Elicit, Wbenuanui, Tiega. Won by two lengths. Time 3.21 2-5.
Autumn Handicap— (1; Ben Hur 1, M) Ball Drass 2, (1; Pedestal 3. Scr: Annin Ra, Okapu, Trojan, Melody. Won hy a length; half a head. Time 1.29 1-5.
Prince of Wales Handicap—(lo) The Swell 1, (71 Silvernnne 2, (2) Yali. Scr: Eaglet. Won by a nose; half a neck. Time 1.54 1-5.
Woodliev Handicap:—(4) Lord Thomond 1, (6) Golden Shadow 2, C 3) .lust an Idea 3. Scr: Eqnitant. Llyn Du. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1.15.
