In the Hawke Cup cricket match between Mamvatu (holders) and Rangitikei, Manawatu won the toss and batted, R. Cameron and Barton opening. Runs came slowly and tlie score was nine after eight overs. R. Cameron and Barton continued to ncore slowly until the former was caught when the score was 46. The incomer was I.X Cameron and soon after Barton was run out when the score was 61. Rodder was the next batsman. At the luncheon adjournment the score was 2 for 75.
