LAUNCH CAPSIZES

THREE MEN IN JEOPARDY,

NEW PLYMOUTH, March 24

The capsize of a fishing launch near Unoturoa Sugarloaf, about a mile from the shore, placed three fishermen, H. L. Autridge, Stan Bridger and Piestney, in a dangerous predicament. It is understood the capsize was caused by two of the men placing their weight on one side of the ld-looter while it had steerage way. When the craft turned over, Piestney was trapped .in die cabin, and it was some time before he could free himself. A man fishing alone in an open boat came to their assistance, and another launch soon arrived and took the men aboard and towed their launch into the harbour. The experience w’as the more unpleasant because a number of sharks had been seen in the locality the day.
