MAKURA NEEDING REPAIRS

The ’Frisco mail steamer Makura was delayed in her arrival from Sydney to-day. Trouble developed iit the engine room last night and assistance was wirelessed for. The tug Toia was dispatched this morning and helped the liner to port arriving about nine o’clock With the assistance of the tug Torawhiti, the Makura was safely berthed at the barf. The trouble was to the port engine, and is serious enough to detain the vessel heire for minor repairs. Ilei place in the ’Frisco run will be taken by the Marunm. due here to-morrow from Sydney. Temporary repairs to the Makura will he effected here, and she will return to Sydney on .triday, where complete repairs will be effected.
