CANBERRA, March 22

Tho Prime Minister referring to the threat of wine manufacturers to closedown tlieir works owing to increased excise duty in fortified spirit lor wine, said he regarded it as a pure bluff adding—“We are governing this country not they, and I would remind them flint we have power to take any necessary action for the protection ol growers.”

■ He continued that those .shouting the loudest liavo been caught with large quantities of fortified wine on hand, owing to their having taken undue advantage of the concessions granted up to the present.”
