ROTARY CONFERENCE

At the Rotary Conference, Mr Charles Rhodes, of New Zealand, emphasised the rapid development and expansion of Rotary and the consequent need or finance. Rotary was now established in 62 countries, and an endowment fund was, lie said, a necessity. They had as an objective two’ millions sterling, which would yield one hundred thousand yearly. There was a proposal for protective insurance scheme. He believed many rotarians would endorse such a fund, and that, in ten or twelve years, the goal would be reached. The most tangible method would be through life insurance on the endowment plan, whereby tile Club took out a. ten years’ policy on a member’s lile, and naid a premium until death or maturity.
At the conclusion of the Conference the national flags of Japan and America were presented to the Chairman, Mr A. C. C. Holtz, of Melbourne.
A luncheon was given to the ovoiseus delegates Iby the Sydney Chamber of Commerce. The principal speaker was Sir Henry Braddon, others including Mr Rhodes, New Zealand, and Japanese delegates.
