PARROT DISEASE
N.Z. EMBARGO ON BIRD IMPORTS

WELLINGTON, March 20
According to a statement made by Hon. Air de la Perrelle to-dav, reports have been received by the Government that Pseitacosis is primarily a disease of parrots and allied species, but the disease also affects smaller birds; and, acting on the advice of the Health Department, it lias been decided not to issue any further authorities for the importation of birds for twelve months, when the matter, will be again reviewed.
