Addressing the Television Society, Sir Anibrox Fleming related that when ordinary means or lamp sigpalling trom a ship had been found unsuitable in war time he Ipul devised a ,light hat was only visible through a special glass. He offered it to the Admiralty, .which rejected it. Three months later the Admiralty requested him to report on: an.invention submitted from Australia. He then had the satisfaction of telling the Admiralty that they had very short memories, as it was exactly the same l invention as he had offeied.
