[United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. 1

NEW YORK, March 18

At Daytona Beach, Kaye Don, after making two runs over the ocean speedway l for an average of 168 miles an hour, was forced to stop by further motor trouble, after topping 172 miles an hour. Once the petrol line broke, but Don said that he expected to continue the tests to-morrow, weather permitting. If he is unable to make a try for the record to-morrow, a further run may be delayed several days, due to the times of the high tides, which forced him io delay the repair of today’s break until this evening, instead of starting again. Although the car was .seen to hit several bumps it appeared to hold its course well, while Don Had no trouble in controlling the car at high speed, despite imperfect visibility.

TRIAL POSTPONED. NEW YORK, March 19. A message from Daytona beach states rain caused a postponement of Don’s speed trials until to-morrow.
