EVERYBODYS PICTURES ALL TALKING PICTURE, TO-MORROW (FRIDAY.) William Collier, Sr., famous actoi of legitimate stage, never let the ■necessity of attending school interfere with the dramatic education of his son, William Collier, Jr., the popular young actor who plays an important i;ole .in “The College Coquette,” the Columbia all-talking picture now playing at the Princess Tbyatwe on Friday. Collier .made his first appearance on the stage at ; the .age of four years in one of his father’s companies. From that time on, he was seen in New York productions periodically. Between productions Collier managed to cram in a good deal of schooling. Fundamentals were acquired in New York preparatory schools. He attended the St. de La Salle Academy from which institution he was graduated. Young Collier intended continuing at Princeton University but found 'it impossible to remain away from the theatrical world for such a long time. He continued on the stage until 1913, at which time he came to Hollywood to enter pictures. Collier was successful from the first. He established an enviable reputation in .'Hollywood. With the advent of talking pictures his popularity increased by leaps and. bounds, i-. His stage experience bad taught him how to use his. voice so that it would have the utmost dramatic effect. This asset in addition to-his knowledge of the technique of screen acting .has-placed him in gieat demand for talking films. “The Lion and- the, Mouse,” “The -Donovan Affair,” ..and “The Bachelor Girl” -are some of his recent pictures. Two .short. Talkies, “Falling Stars,; and tJ .f.‘Parlour.. Pests” will , also be included in th© display,, together with further chapters of the Serial and comedy. . ’ .
