STABLE TRAGEDY
HOUSE OWNER SHOT. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, March 18. Tlio police are investigating the shooting of John Edwin Byrne, a prominent Sydney race horse owner and trainer, residing at .Mascot. Mr Bvrne, who died to-day, heard a strange noise in his stahles. He armed liimscllf with a revolver and went to investigate. He was later I'ound lying with a bullet wound under the heart and one ep.pty shell in his revolver. The police think it possible that he was shot with his own revolver during a struggle with the intruder.
