Oxford crew has not yet arrived, but the boats for the ’Varsity race are nearing completion. Both are being constructed from the same cedar log. Each is 62$ feet long but the Cambridge boat’s beam is 23| inches or one-eighth of an inch wider than Oxford’s because; the crew averages two pounds heavier. .
