HON. NELSON’S SUIT

AUCKLAND, March 14
Additional costs amounting to two ■hundred guineas have been allowed by Mr Justice Herdimm to the proprietors of the “New Zealand Herald” on their claim against the Hon 0. F. Nifilson in connection with Nelson’s discontinuance of the action for alleged libel, as the defence necessitated a prodigious amount of research and great expense. The judgment includes a proviso that costs on the discontinuance, in the aggregate, do not exceed £3OO.
HON COBBE RETURNS
AUCKLAND, March 18
Hon Cobbe asked for a statement in regard to affairs'in Samoa, said he could not make any before he saw tne Prime .Minister, except that matters were satisfactory and he was hopeful of the future.
Asked what was to become of the trainees at Trentha.m lie smilingly said those that are up there are coming back in H.M.S. Dunedin.
