D. iriewett, of Auckland, in a De rfuviland Moth aeroplane, fitted with Gypsy engine. 'throughout the trip the weather was excellent, with a light head wind. The pilot passed over Wellington at noon, Palmerston. North at 1.16 p.m., and continuing along the Main Trunk railway line, lie reached Auckland at the time stated. Captain Hewett said he enjoyed the flight immensely, and was not at all tired. The distance covered by Captain Hewett on his flight from Dunedin is estimated at about 830 miles. He carried 65 gallons .of petrol and about 50 gallons were-used,. . ..
