TROTTING CLUBS
(By Telegraph--Press Association)
AUCKLAND, March 14. There is a proposal before the Committee of the Auckland Trotting Cm'» for the Otahuhu T.C. to unite with it in an amalgamation. Should the proposal be approved by the Committee, the members off both clubs will be asked to endorse the Committee s 'action at a general meeting of both Clubs to be called at a nearly date. The amalgamation of the two clubs .would certainly have the effect of placing trotting on a better footing, both from the point of view of the owners and of the public. The \ lickland Clubs would then be in a position to proceed at once with the erection of an electric Totafisatoi and also effect without delay, other necessary improvements at Alexandra Park.
The terms of amalagation are to Tie embodied in an agreement to be dja.wn up by the clus’ solicitors, and fo be submitted to the members for their consent.
The Minister of Internal Affairs has been communicated with, and his reply is expected within a few days endorsing the proposal.
