Conditions at Tirentham for the conclusion of the meeting, were trying on account of a gusty wind. The unique circumstances respecting the competition for the King’s Medal was that every arm in the New Zealand force, including Navy and cadets had qualified. The highest scorer, Sergt. Brockon, is a New Zealander, born at Christchurch, but uneligible. Sergt. Thomson, the winner, was also successful in 1928, the coincidence being that on that occasion he also was topped bv Sergt. Howard of the Royal Navy. The prizes were presented by Hon G. W. Forbes (acting Prime'Minister).
