BILLIARDS

BILLIARD RECORD.

BY WALTER LINDRUM

[United Press Association—l3y Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.]

LONDON, March 10.

Amid scenes of enthusiasm, Landrum smashed another world’s record at the memorial Halt by scoring 4287 against Smith’s 358. It was perhaps the most sensational session in . the history of the game. He compiled breaks of 1417, 1809, and 750. He showed amazing rapidity. He actually scored 900 points by potting the red, and ordinary cannons, with no nurseries. By woy of contrast, in another break, he scored from sixty up to 1509 without going in off once. All players agreetliat it was a most astonishing performance, and one they had not believed to be possible. • Yet, withal Lindrum finished up the freshest. He broke down in bis last effort at 750 through the ball kicking. An idea of Lindrum’s monopoly of the table is obtainable from the fact that at the close of the afternoon session the scores were: Lindrum 2000; Smith 169. He showed the same brilliance at night.
